United Way is very mindful of the importance of your privacy. United Way will not sell, trade, give or rent any information obtained from you to third parties.
United Way may at times collect and store information about you as part of the services we offer on the website. However, in doing this, United Way will abide by certain principles and take all reasonable steps to comply with those principles.
In order to provide an up to date and ongoing service, United Way collects the personal data that you volunteer when making a donation. Upon making a donation you will be required to provide some basic personal information. Your information will be used by United Way for the purpose of processing and receipting only, unless specified. United Way will not pass on your details to any third parties unless you instruct otherwise.
This information is only used by United Way for administrational purposes. We will not rent, sell or exchange information about you to third parties unless specifically authorised by you
You have the right to request access to personal information which United Way holds about you and to advise us of any perceived inaccuracy. The Commonwealth Privacy Act does set out some situations where you are not entitled to access this information. To make a request, you will need to complete an application form verifying your identity and specifying what information you require. A fee may be charged for providing access. We will advise you of the likely cost in advance.
